Take-Two has finally spoken again about the highly anticipated "Red Dead Redemption 2" release date. According to the gaming giant, the sequel's rumored 2017 launch may not happen. Instead the "potential" release date has been pushed.
According to PlayStation Universe, Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games' parent company, has just announced that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be launched sometime between Oct. 2017 and Sept. 2018. The sad news comes after reports of a release delay emerged over the past days. The rumors of a delay stemmed from the "RDR2" publisher's failure to feature a Super Bowl trailer.
The expected "Red Dead Redemption 2" trailer was supposed to be launched during the weekend. Unfortunately, no footage was unveiled. This has fueled talks about a delay for the game's release. The rumors have turned out to be true.
According to the Daily Express, "Red Dead Redemption 2," was initially set for an autumn 2017 launch. Some retailers have leaked that the sequel to "Red Dead Redemption" may be released as early as October 2. Others suggested a late October debut. However, hopes for an October 2017 launch may no longer be up after the recent confirmation.
"Red Dead Redemption 2" is one of the most anticipated games that's supposed to come out this year. However, it will now be pushed back in top 2017 games lists. Take-Two has yet to officially address the issues regarding the delay. On the other hand, loyal fans are still rooting for the title even if it gets released at a later date.
There is not much known about the gameplay for "Red Dead Redemption 2" yet. Even the recently released trailer did not show much of the story or what players should expect. All that's confirmed is that the "RDR" sequel will be an action-adventure title, much like the first two in the series.
"Red Dead Redemption 2" is slated to land on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Stay tuned for more updates on the game's highly anticipated release. Watch the trailer below.
