Shailene Woodley "Divergent" actress has officially confirmed that she will not be appearing in the final installment of the film. The fourth chapter of the movie titled "Ascendant" is already being planned to be a "Divergent" TV series rather than a movie sequel. It is being reported that for this reason, even Theo James will no longer reprise his role in the upcoming installment.
When asked if she would be appearing on the "Divergent" TV series, Shailene Woodley told Vanity Fair that she is not going to be part of the television show. The departure of Shailene Woodley who played Tris Prior in the film, will clearly be a huge loss for the franchise. But it seems her fans will still get to see her as it is reported that the actress has taken on a role of a single mother in a new TV series titled Big Little Lies.
However, it seems that the "Divergent" TV series will not just lose one major character, as it is being reported that Theo James, who played the role of Tobias Eaton in the franchise has also teased that he will not be appearing the show. TooFab reports that Theo James revealed that he feels sorry that they will not be able to appear in the final installment of the TV series.
The report states that the actor also believes that the rest of the "Divergent" cast members from the original title would probably not be reprising their roles too. It is reported that Theo James expressed his profound gratitude to people who supported the franchise and also beloved fans.
Shailene Woodley and Theo James have walked their ways to fame and have gained more popularity after their leading roles in "Divergent." It was reported in Dec. that Theo James is moving to the stage as he will be appearing in the UK production of "Sex with Strangers," which was slated to hit Hampstead Theatre in Jan.
He stated that he is definitely excited about it but a part of him is thinking that he hopes he remembers how to do this as he has not done it for years. But he thinks it is going to be fine since it is back in London, hometown. Following the unexpected drop in ratings of the third installment of "Divergent" titled "Allegiant," the movie creators reportedly took the decision to take the franchise into a TV movie.
But it seems the news did not go down well with the cast members and even fans of the popular movie "Divergent." Moreover, it seems the decision on the "Divergent" TV series is still inconclusive as there is neither an official announcement nor confirmation that the series will actually happen.
