Production has finally started for the two-part "Avengers: Infinity War". In a recent featurette, the team behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe lets fans in on the driving force behind the movies, and the team-ups that are to be expected.
Set on the first day of filming, the video starts with a short description of the Infinity Gems, and then proceeds to an MCU geek's dream come true. Robert Downey Jr. of "Iron Man", "Spider-Man" star Tom Holland and "Guardians of the Galaxy" lead Chris Pratt are together on set, which confirms Spidey's inclusion on "Avengers: Infinity War", as well as the "Guardians".
MCU bigwig Kevin Feige then gives a short talk on the background of "Avengers: Infinity War". As Comic Book reported, the 10-year span of MCU films, beginning from 2008's "Iron Man", are about to culminate in the two-part title. He also promises that Thanos, whom they were setting up to be the biggest baddie the Avengers will face, will show the audience in "Avengers: Infinity War" just how powerful and terrifying he could be.
He also explains that the reason "Captain America: Civil War" was made was to prepare the stage for the arrival of Thanos, Polygon reported. Joe and Anthony Russo, directors of "Avengers: Infinity War", were also featured on the video, elaborating more on the 'tearing apart' of the Avengers that they did in "Civil War". According to them, it was to make them more vulnerable and unprepared to upcoming the threat that is Thanos.
The "Avengers: Infinity War" directors also talked about the roster of characters that will participate in the movie. In their words, the Russo brothers describe them as bringing a combustible excitement in the movie's massive scale of adventure in "Avengers: Infinity War".
"Avengers: Infinity War" is currently in production. Part 1 is scheduled on 2018, while Part 2 is for a 2019 release.
