Felix Kjellberg, who is widely known as "PewDiePie" has been the talk of the week in YouTube Universe. The talk has been rooted for anti-Semitic humor on the contents of his latest videos. The YouTube Star released a new video which features him apologizing for his use of Nazi imagery and anti-Semitic language but people can't stop to think that the move is something they have seen before.
As per Polygon, everything started when Wall Street Journal has highlighted the use of anti-Semitic humor and Nazi imagery on Kjellberg's latest videos in their report. This caused PewDiePie's biggest sponsors: Disney and Google, to give up their sponsorships on him. According to the YouTube star, this isn't news, but an attack directed to him.
PewDiePie released a video of himself saying sorry for the offensive and insensitive topics featured in his videos recently. Adding to his half-hearted apology, he claimed that the Wall Street Journal is attacking him and is trying to discredit him to increase his influence.
According to The Verge, this strategy has been used by Donald Trump to gather supporters. Trump referenced the success of his own television ratings, and mocking the various news outlets. On the other hand, PewDiePie pointed out that he became very successful in YouTube and media failed to give him respect. This makes both men's fans encouraged to battle the media.
On PewDiePie's Twitter post, he said that Wall Street Journal should've contacted him first about their concern about his videos.
WSJ shouldve tried to get a response from me directly to begin with. Not going to brands I work with first. Proves to me their maliciousness

A report from Business Insider stated that this must be an eye opener for YouTube. Sure, stars like PewDiepie boost their sales on streams ad YouTube Red, but they have to keep an eye for the stars that they try to help.
