Reports confirm that Bob and Max, the 4-year-old twin sons of Charlie Sheen and ex-wife Brooke Mueller, were removed from their mother's LA home on Thursday evening (May 2) after children and family services deemed the residence an "unsafe environment" for kids. Apparently, the boys are now in the care of Sheen's other ex-wife, Denise Richards. According to TMZ sources, officials ultimately determined the home was unsafe after they suspected Mueller of being on drugs again. The Hollywood socialite has struggled with addiction for years, and authorities believe that her young sons were in danger. Now the twins are in safe, reliable hands with Richards.
The L.A. Children and Family Services showed up to Mueller's home on Thursday night with a warrent. Bob and Max were then promptly taken from the "unsafe" environment and handed over to 42-year-old Richards. The stunning actress is the mother of Sheen's two daughters, Sam and Lola. She's also the mother of adopted 22-month-old baby girl, Eloise. The couple was married from 2002-2006
A rep for 35-year-old Mueller had no comment.
Following her seperation from Sheen in 2011, Mueller attempted many stints in rehab for drug and alcohol problems. When Mueller checked herself into rehab for the 19th time back in December 2012, Richards was the one to care for young Bob and Max. "This is not the first time I've had all five [kids]," Richards told Access Hollywood at the time. "Brooke knows, and Charlie, that anytime they need help with the boys, I'm there."
It's unclear why the boys weren't placed in Sheen's temporary care.
A custody court hearing has reportedly been set for sometime next week.
