Mark Harmon is a key character in "NCIS" but there are rumors that he is leaving the series due to his health condition. However, new reports suggest that Harmon is not yet ready to leave the show.

Tripped Media reported that CBS is pulling the rug under "NCIS" Season 14 due to Mark Harmon's health issues. Although the next season is confirmed, many fear that it will be the last as Harmon is bound to exit the show and it is unlikely to survive without Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Harmon).

It is undeniable that Mark Harmon's Gibbs is a fan-favorite character. If the star leaves the series, there is no doubt that "NCIS" Season 14 will lose many viewers. At the time, "NCIS" Season 14 is doing good in ratings. The TV series has finally recovered after it hits the bottom when Michael Weatherly (Anthony DiNozzo) opted to leave the show. However, fans do not want to see another departure from a key character in the hit TV series and reportedly threatened the network that they will stop watching the show if Harmon's Gibbs will be pulled out.

Well, it looks like none is leaving the show. Per Celebeat, Mark Harmon is not ready to leave the show despite his alleged ailing health. The star used to be an athlete and according to him, he was never out of shape when he was younger. The "NCIS" Season 14 star admits that he is not doing the same stuff when he was 24 but he does not take his health for granted either.

Harmon suffered a shoulder injury and this should not be too serious to stop him from joining "NCIS" season 16 if the series will be renewed. Also, there is no confirmation about Harmon's ailing health reports. At the time, the "NCIS" actor is doing Pilates, which for him is harder than what he used to do. Although he wishes that he still has the same stamina in running when he was younger.

"I was a big runner after college - I used to do 60 to 70-mile weeks every week," Harmon told Men's Fitness. "I wish I had some of that back now. [Pilates] is all about controlling the machine, and that's twice as hard."

Will Mark Harmon remain in the "NCIS" franchise in the upcoming years? Will CBS renew the series after "NCIS" Season 15? Drop a comment below.
