"Transformers 5" which is the fifth installment of the Transformers film series will officially be called "Transformers: The Last Knight." The film is scheduled to be released on June 23 this year.
The trailer for "Transformers 5" was released around three months back and Optimus Prime fighting Bumblebee and seemingly about to kill him. This has made many fans question themselves as to why Optimus Prime could do such thing.
It looks like that the last Transformers movie might be based on the animated feature "Transformers: The Movie." This also means that this will be Optimus Prime's last movie and it is expected that a new group of Transformers will be introduced in this movie that will move on the franchise. However, these theories will be put to an end on June 23 this year when "Transformers 5" hits the theaters.
The storyline of "Transformers: The Last Knight" has Optimus Prime finding his home planet, Cyber Tron. He finds out that the planet is now dead and he himself was responsible per killing it. Optimus Prime finds a way to bring back the planet back to life but in order to do that he needs to find an artifact. The artifact can be found only on earth.
The upcoming "Transformers: The Last Knight" has Mark Wahlberg reprising his role from "Transformers: Age of Extinction" as Cade Yeager. He will lead a cast that includes Jerod Carmichael, Laura Haddock, Isabela Moner and Anthony Hopkins. From the original trilogy, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson return as Lennox and Epps. Also, Liam Garrigan is back as King Arthur and Santiago Cabrera is playing Merlin.
