Niantic CEO John Hanke has just dropped some big news for "Pokemon Go" fans. Three major updates are coming this year. However, he did not give the details on the rumored "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 expansions.
Despite the lack of details, it didn't take long before fans started speculating what the three "Pokemon Go" updates may feature. One of the most popular theories is the arrival of a breeding system, which could come with a "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update. The theory has been around for some time now but talks of the system were ignited on Thursday.
According to Pokemon Go Informer, John Hanke explained that the "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update earlier this year was just the beginning. Breeding could be one of them since it is considered by fans as a huge expansion if it happens. It will allow players to come up with their own creatures through a breeding system that should be exciting to explore.
Aside from breeding, there have been rumors of a potential "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update that features a very rare creature. Legendary Pokemon are very rare. However, rumor has it that a creature some players may never have heard of may be introduced this year.
Meanwhile, the Daily Express notes that PvP gameplay and trading may be one of the expansions this year. Aside from the "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update, fans are also looking forward to trading with other players. This is a highly anticipated feature that has yet to arrive in the hit mobile game.
Data miners seem to have uncovered evidence of PvP gameplay and trading within the game's code. However, Niantic has yet to officially confirm when these features will be unveiled. The same is true for the next "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update.
"Pokemon Go" is playable on Android and IOS devices. Stay tuned for more "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update news.
