James Harden: Dating Khloe Kardashian Led To ‘The Worst Year Of His Life’?

James Harden, who has found immense success in his basketball career, after he split from his former girlfriend, Khloe Kardashian, described 2016 to be "the worst year in his life". What went so horribly wrong in their relationship?

Even though dating any of the Kardashian sisters might seem like a dream come true for "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" fans, it turned out to be a complete nightmare for James Harden. The constant attention and getting scrutinized for trivial things was something that he had not signed up for and soon it started to tell on his profession.

"I didn't like all the attention," Harden told Sports Illustrated. "I feel like it was for no reason. I wasn't getting anything out of it except my name out there and my face out there, and I don't need that."

Harden further clarified that even though he wasn't uncomfortable with being in the limelight 24/7, he felt like he did nothing to deserve that kind of attention. Being a sportsperson, he did not feel like pictures of which car he was driving or what shoes he was wearing mattered that much.

When his overnight fame started to affect his game and changed the way his teammates behaved towards him, he decided to put an end to his relationship with Khloe. It also did not help that following the split, the reality star started claiming that it was Harden who had cheated on her, leaving her with no choice but to call it quits, Complex reports.

Looking back at a time when he could not even stand in the checkout line at Target without seeing his face plastered on every magazine cover, Harden feels relieved it was short-lived. "I'm not worried about anything but hoping and that may be why I'm having this kind of success," he said.
