The Nokia 3310 is no doubt the most iconic (Nokia) phone ever, with the record of the most memes and social media exposure on its belt. Its "indestructible" image and its reliable battery life is its most useful asset in the market. With the modern phones' battery woes and fragile design, old folks see the new Nokia 3310 as a breath of relieve. But even if there are many reasons why reviving the phone is a good idea, there are major reasons why it is really not.

First thing first, what is expected in this new Nokia 3310?

According to TechRadar, the new Nokia 3310 will weigh 79.6g -which is lighter than the original Nokia 3310- and has a dimension of 115.6 x 51 x 12.8mm. The phone will be powered by Nokia Series 30+ and a microSD slot which is expandable up to 32 GB. There will be an FM radio and 2.5 G internet connection. The battery is 1,2000mAh and a decent 2MP Rear Camera. The keypad is still the same, albeit flatter. And there is a revamped version of Snake. It has a price tag of €49.

The Nokia 3310 2017 version stole the spotlight at Mobile World Congress 2017 and it might be a bad thing for HMD Global, Nokia's new home. According to Pocket-lint, this might be a bad thing for future Nokia phones like Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6. First, it is not a global phone, in which it will not work in North America due to frequency wave incompatibility. Nokia 3310 will also overshadow Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6. It is like what happened to Nintendo, everybody wants a Nintendo NES Mini when the company wants people's attention into the new Nintendo Switch.

And Nokia 3310 should've had more on its sleeves. An internet connection is okay for an upgrade, but it would be better if Nokia 3310 would pack 3G or maybe Wi-Fi. No grudge here, Nokia 3310 is still a good backup phone. But if it can offer a whole lot more to justify its dominance to new Nokia phones, then it would be a win-win situation for HMD Global and Nokia fans.
