"The Incredibles 2" is definitely happening, and the whole gang is on board including Frozone. After a lot of speculation and doubt as to Samuel L. Jackson's involvement in the animated film, the "Kong: Skull Island" star recently confirmed that his character is returning in the sequel.
"I've been in the studio one day so far. One day so far, but I don't know if that's a dedicated recording or pre-recording, so they could start to animate against what I said," Jackson said about the recent developments to "The Incredibles 2." "I think it's going to be pretty awesome. Everyone's been waiting to see, more than anything, what Jack-Jack evolved into."
Prior to this confirmation, Jackson was unsure of his participation in the film, although he remained positive that his character would take part in the sequel. "Every time I run into Brad [Bird, director] he always tells me Frozone is part of what's going on, so I have to believe that," Jackson told Digital Spy. "I guess they could be the Incredibles without Frozone, but I think Frozone would be a wonderful addition to what's already there."
As per Collider, production for "The Incredibles 2" is currently underway, with Brad Bird working as the director and writer.
Meanwhile, the plot and specifics of "The Incredibles 2" have been kept a secret for now. The biggest buzz sequel the film, however, is what Jack-Jack will be when fans meet him again.
When "The Incredibles" came out in 2004, Jack-Jack was just an infant and he didn't show any powers for most of the film. It was much later that Jack-Jack's power became manifest. It appeared that his primary ability is shapeshifting, although others contend that he possesses a variety of powers. If properly developed, Jack-Jack would become the most powerful member of the Parr family.
"The Incredibles" became a huge hit when it was released in 2004. Apart from grossing over $600 million worldwide, the movie also took home an Oscar for Best Animated Film.
"The Incredibles 2" will premiere on June 15, 2018.
