Viewers will have to hold on to their seats for "Orphan Black" Season 5, which will be the last few episodes of the sci-fi thriller series on BBC America. The story will explore prolongevity, especially when one of the clones, Rachel, meets the founder of Neolution, Dr. Westmoreland, who is still alive after more than a hundred years.
The "Orphan Black" Season 5 premiere will happen in June. The recent teasers reveal Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) stressing that she and her clone sisters will live and die for each other. In the previous seasons, viewers have seen Sarah and her sister clones finding each other and solving the mystery behind their births. They encountered many problems and more secrets, as well as Mark Rollins (Ari Millen) who has his own set of brother clones.
Showrunner Graeme Manson told TV Line that "Orphan Black" Season 5 will tackle life extension and that Dr. Westmoreland is still alive after over a century. Westmoreland is the founder of Neolution and has been sending Rachel Duncan (Maslany) visions. Season 4 ended with Rachel eagerly anticipating meeting Westmoreland. This is a huge twist in the story, with everything coming full circle.
Screen Crush confirmed that major characters will return for the last season. Evelyne Brochu will reprise her role as Delphine, Calwyn Shurgold as Hell Wizard, and James Frain as Ferdinand. Stephen McHattie will also join the "Orphan Black" Season 5 cast as Dr. PT Westmoreland, the 170-year-old founder. Other new cast members are Elyse Levesque as Detective Engers, Andrew Moodie as Mr. Frontenac, Simu Liu as Mr. Mitchell, and Jenessa Grant as Mud.
There are other things to look forward to in the farewell season. Cosima (Mslany) claimed she found the cure for the illness that has been plaguing the clones. The sisters will finally unravel the secret of their birth and their future. The "Orphan Black" Season 5 air date is on June 10 at 10 PM on BBC America.
