Fox is bringing Bryan Singer's mutant universe to the small screen in the "X-Men" TV series, but it won't feature prominent mutant heroes just yet. It will revolve around two human parents who struggle with raising mutant teenagers and encountering young mutants like Blink and Polaris. Amy Acker has just been cast as the human mother separated from her mutant children.

The "X-Men" movies are still rolling and viewers are flocking to the theaters to watch "Logan", where Hugh Jackman will perform his last act as Wolverine. Die-hard fans who can't get enough of the mutants, however, will be able to see a new batch of them on Fox's "X-Men" TV series. According to Yahoo, two human parents will struggle to hide their mutant teenage children. They will find help with a secret group of mutants.

"Agents of SHIELD" actress Amy Acker will be part of the "X-Men" TV series cast. She will star as Kate Stewart, the human mother who has to protect her children. Kate gets separated from her husband, Reed, who will be played by "True Blood" actor Stephen Moyer. Acker has played several urban fantasy, sci-fi action drama TV series before.

Many fans will remember her as Audrey in "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD". She also starred in two shows by Joss Whedon, "Angel" and "Dollhouse". Recently, Acker played Root in "Person of Interest". The "X-Men" TV series is Acker's comeback role for Fox. She will also be joined by several known TV actors.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Between" actor Percy Hynes White will also join the "X-Men" TV series cast as Andy, a lonely teenager with a secret. "Gotham" actress Natalie Alyn Lind will play Lauren, Kate and Reed's mutant daughter. Sean Teale will play Marcos Diaz a.k.a. Eclipse, who can absorb and manipulate photons. Fans will also be glad to know that Blink, who was in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" will return and will be played by Jamie Chung.

To cap it off, "Bunhead" actress Emma Dumont will star as Lorna Dane a.k.a. Polaris, who can manipulate magnetism. The "X-Men" TV series exists in the same universe as the films, so her connection to Magneto will most likely be explored. The series will also feature the mutant-hunting Sentinels. This could also mean that viewers will see several iconic X-Men members appear during the show's later episodes.
