When it was announced that "Gilmore Girls" will return to Netflix, everyone got hyped for the well-loved series. A revival of the series was being requested for so many years now. Fortunately, there is a possibility that more episodes are currently in talks waiting for an official 'yes' from producers.
Last year of November, lead actresses, Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel of "Gilmore Girls," returned to the small screen to entertain with "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life". The iconic mother-daughter tandem returned as a web television series on Netflix. The said reboot, however, only consisted of four episodes. Despite having four episodes, each has a duration of 88 to 102-minute per episode, titled as "Winter", "Spring", "Summer" and "Fall".
"Gilmore Girls" has been one of the longest running series, being aired from 2000 to 2007 on The WB and The CW. Thanks to Netflix, when fans thought that the series said their goodbyes, "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" came as a reboot, according to Perez Hilton.
On the brighter side, BBC reported that Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos brought good news. It was revealed that more episodes of "Gilmore Girls" will come soon. He further disclosed that some talks are going on about establishing the future of "Gilmore Girls". However, the said discussions are currently "very preliminary".
"We hope (it happens)," BBC quoted Sarandos. "We obviously loved the success of the show, fans loved how well it was done; it delivered what they hoped."
With the still strong hype for "Gilmore Girls", Netflix has been in talks for the possibility of producing more episodes of "Gilmore Girls" with the creativity of creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Dan Palladino.
Meanwhile, speculations of a movie-adaptation for "Gilmore Girls" surfaced way back in 2008. However, Amy Sherman-Palladino denied such plan for the series. With the current discussions and talks for the show, Gilmore Girls" might actually be produced if more than a handful of people are involved and seems to be interested on the "Gilmore Girls" revival.
