Harry Styles is slowly making a name in the movie industry and his acting prowess has gained recognition. The former One Direction singer landed a spot in Variety's "10 Brits to Watch" list, thanks to his role in Christopher Nolan's war film "Dunkirk."
Paul Courbould, the Special Effects Supervisor for "Dunkirk" only has good words to say about Styles. Talking about his acting in the movie, Courbould complimented the singer and thought he did an amazing job as a WWII soldier.
According to Unreality TV, Styles initially only had a few lines to say in "Dunkirk." However, the producers and those involved in the film noticed his natural talent for acting. His minor role reportedly expanded as soon as they saw his performance.
Apparently, Styles' knack for acting landed him a spot in Variety's "10 Brits to Watch" list. Steven Gaydos, the Executive Editor for the publication, talked about the singer's chances to gain recognition for his acting skills after "Dunkirk" gets out in theaters. "The minute he goes on to the screen in this big time movie, Dunkirk, I think there's going to be a lot of attention on him to see if there's an acting career there - certainly the opportunity is there," Gaydos said.
Clearly, the former One Direction member had fans talking when news about his involvement in "Dunkirk" first came out. Everybody wants to know if he is any good. Fans would just have to take Courbould's word that Styles did great in the movie.
"Dunkirk" may not be Styles' first and last foray into the movie industry. A source told E! News that he has received film offers, but he wants to land a role that he feels is right. The British singer reportedly admitted his love for acting and plans to pursue this dream after One Direction went on hiatus last year.
Apparently, Styles thought "Dunkirk" was the right film for him. Whether he lands another film project afterward is unknown. However, it certainly opens up possibilities for him to make a name for himself in Hollywood.
