Frank Oz remains tight-lipped on whether he returns in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" to voice Yoda. However, his response during a recent interview suggests the possibility of Yoda's appearance in the film.

Oz was asked about Yoda's return in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" during Sunday's South By Southwest (SXSW) panel in Texas. The actor, who voiced the tiny Jedi Master in the "Star Wars" franchise, declined to give a definite answer. He said that Disney and Lucasfilm have forbidden him to talk about Yoda's return. "To be true to the people who asked me, and they are kind of my family, I have to say I've been asked not to talk about it," he said.

Oz's statement is already a hint that Yoda is in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." According to The Telegraph, by asking him not to talk about it, Disney already gave an indication that the green alien will cameo in the film. Likewise, if Yoda is not in the sequel, then Oz could just have said so outright. Instead, his hesitation to talk about the subject suggests the possibility of the Jedi Master's return.

Regardless, Oz expressed his love for the character. He also assured that he would gladly talk about Yoda's appearance in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" when he gets the green light from the studios. "I would be happy to talk to you about it at the time they let me," Oz said.

Talks about Yoda's cameo in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" has been ongoing, especially after he made a cameo in "The Force Awakens." Fans heard his voice in Rey's Force vision. Speculations are rife that Yoda returns as a Force Ghost along with Qui-Gon Jinn. Nerdist also claims that he might have another voice cameo in the sequel, given that Oz already recorded his lines.

According to the publication, J.J. Abrams recorded new dialogues for Oz as Yoda supposedly for use in "The Force Awakens." The audio never made it to his film, since the director used old clips instead. It is likely that the new audio clips could surface in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi."
