It has been months after Sony Picture display "Zombieland 2" logo in CinemaCon indicating it is about to happen in the near future. However, there is no further news since then confirming the exact date for this sequel to make its return to theaters. Thus, fans left in a question whether they should stick around or back out. Here and now, fans should end their inquiry as recently there has been updates on this film renewal.
According to Slash Film, the writer Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick verified that "Zombieland 2" was in active development. During an interview for their new movie "Life" with Comicbook earlier this week, these rising writer indicated the script was all set. Wernick added it had been handed out to the cast and they loved it. Moreover, he also stated that Ruben Fleischer already assigned his participation for this filmmaking.
Speaking of the cast for "Zombieland 2", the two writers who previously also managed to send "Deadpool" up disclosed that the original cast likely joined the team. However, they emphasized it would happen if the cast agreed to be paid in accord with the budget. Wernick deemed it to be a tricky deal for the original cast had been applauded lately with their latest works.
"Zombieland 2" reportedly will set in motion after the cast fling their approval to once again play their previous role. However, if they happen to decline the offer, the team must find other cast and draft a supreme way to make it more interesting with the brand new cast. By this way, it perhaps will have the chance to bring many viewers like it does so 9 years ago.
Still, fans should not be worried as the writer has confirmed that "Zombieland 2" will find its way to theaters even with or without the original cast.
