Liam Payne, Cheryl Cole Baby Name: Couple Torn Between Taylor & Alfie

Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole might find themselves arguing over what to name their first child. A previous interview revealed that they both have different preferences for a boy's name-Cheryl likes Alfie and Liam prefers Taylor.

Cheryl Cole talked about motherhood and the name she would pick out for a baby boy in a 2012 interview with GQ. The former Girls Aloud singer opened up about her desire to be a mother since she believes that it is her purpose on earth. She then revealed that if ever she would have a baby boy, she would name him Alfie.

Likewise, Liam Payne said during his One Direction days that he would name his first child as Taylor. "Taylor's pretty neutral for a boy or a girl. That's what I'm going to call my first child if I had children," the 23-year old said during an interview with Hits Radio, according to Mail Online.

Their interview has resurfaced following the birth of Cheryl Cole and Liam Payne's first child. The former "X-Factor" judge revealed that she gave birth to a healthy baby boy on March 22. However, she said that they have not given their child a name yet. Will they pick Taylor or Alfie for their baby boy's name?

Even though the couple has yet to name their baby, the fact is he has already charmed friends and family. Cheryl Cole wrote on her Instagram page that their son has already captured their hearts. Likewise, Liam Payne's family is overwhelmed with happiness at the little bundle of joy.

Liam Payne's mother Karen took to social media recently to announce that she is the happiest grandmother to the most beautiful baby boy. Meanwhile, his sister said it was love at first sight when she saw her nephew. Cheryl Cole's friends also visited her home during Mother's Day weekend to get a glimpse of her baby boy.

As it stands, no one knows yet what Cheryl Cole and Liam Payne plan to call their baby boy--be it, Alfie or Taylor. Perhaps the family already knows the baby's name but decided to keep it private. The couple will eventually announce it to the public in due time.
