Camila Cabello & Shawn Mendes' 'Kiss Me' Cover On Instagram Sparks Dating Rumors [Watch]

Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes uploaded their very own "Kiss Me" cover on Instagram last Monday. The two singers posted the black and white video of their version of the romantic Ed Sheeran song and it sparked further rumors that they were dating. However, the two denied the speculations, saying they were just friends.

On March 27, "Illuminate" singer Shawn Mendes uploaded a video on his Instagram account. It was a video of him and former Fifth Harmony member, Camila Cabello. They were singing Ed Sheeran's "Kiss Me". According to MTV, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes collaborated previously for "I Know What You Did Last Summer".

The Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes cover was captioned off with, "Found this gem deep in the iPhone videos.. lol i love the "killed that" face we both make at the end." Mendes also recently posted a cover of Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" on Instagram. He and Cabello are old friends and have worked together in the past.

The black and white video on Instagram, however, fueled the dating rumors around Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes. Since the two singers are close, many of their fans speculated on whether they were secretly seeing each other. However, Mendes previously told PEOPLE that he and Cabello were just friends.

Mendes is currently on his "Illuminate World Tour" and admitted that he and Cabello were close and had known each other for a long time, but they had never dated. The Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes dating rumors are not stopping, though, considering the close friendship between the two.

In fact, Mendes said that Cabello is one of his greatest friends. "You find that instant connection with people, and she's one of them," the 18-year-old singer said. Cabello, meanwhile, expressed that she doesn't want to discuss her love life with the public. Both Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes are working on their individual projects now, but fans are looking forward to their future collaborations.
