Sony announced its two smartphones at the Mobile World Congress this year - Xperia XZs and Xperia XZ Premium. Both the smartphones are expected to be available in the market by April 5.
Sony Xperia XZs is the smaller phone of the two and also features inferior specifications than the Xperia XZ Premium. Xperia XZs and XZ Premium both feature striking similarities in terms of the design. The cameras on these smartphones are same, 13MP on the front and 19MP on the back which is capable of doing super slow-motion video at 960 frames per second.
Sony Xperia XZ Premium is the flagship smartphone from Sony to date and most probably for the first half of the year 2017. It has a 5.46-inch IPS LCD screen with 4k resolution and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back. The screen is among the few to have HDR10 support which enhances the color reproduction and contrast levels to create life-like images, PCAdvisor reported.
The Xperia XZ Premium is one of the few smartphones to get Snapdragon 835 processor while the XZs gets a Snapdragon 820 SoC from last year. However, both the smartphones have 4GB RAM and get an IP68 certification. It's surprising but Sony has retained 3.5mm headphone jack on both of these smartphones and they also have a microSD card slot for storage expansion upto 256GB, GSMArena reported.
The powerful XZ Premium has a large 3230mAh battery while the XZs has 2900mAh battery to power the device and both are non-removable. Both the smartphones have USB 3.1 Type-C connector and fingerprint sensor at the side of the phone.
Both the smartphones will go on sale in India on April 4. Xperia XZ Premium will be available in Luminous Chrome, Deepsea Black color options while the XZs will be available in Black, Warm Silver, Ice Blue option. The pricing for both the smartphones is still unknown.
