Simon Cowell Tried To Get Mel B Leave Stephen Belafonte Before; Worried After Her Suicide Try

Simon Cowell and his team at Syco helped Melanie “Mel B” Brown after she tried to commit suicide after claiming alleged abuse by her husband, Stephen Belafonte. This was in the midst of filming the "X Factor" finals back in December 2014. The former “American Idol” judge have been left worried over Belafonte’s seeming control over her finances. Following her release from the hospital, he was among those who tried to help Mel leave her husband.

According to a source, Mel B never told anyone that Stephen Belafonte was beating her up. But, she told people at Syco that she wanted to leave him.
