Following the successful revival of "Gilmore Girls," fans are looking forward to another season of the hit reboot. However, Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham have just revealed some bad news.
According to Refinery 29, Bledel and Graham revealed that "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" has not been renewed for another installment yet. This means fans who are expecting to get a second season anytime soon are not getting anything at all. Bledel plays Rory, while Graham plays Lorelai in the series.
The bigger bad news is that both actresses have not been called on for another season. It remains to be seen if another season for the "Gilmore Girls" reboot will ever happen. However, it appears that there were previous talks about the possibilities last month.
In a recent interview, Lauren Graham also revealed that she isn't sure if there is a "need" to continue the story in the "Gilmore Girls" revival. However, fans are not yet ready to close doors on the series. Also, there's no official word from Netflix yet regarding the cancelation of the show.
Meanwhile, the two stars also talked to E! News about what they truly felt about the ending of "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life." Graham revealed that it definitely was a cliffhanger. The actress was referring to Rory making the drop about her pregnancy. "It's not an ending," Graham explained.
As for Bledel, she admitted that her ending in the "Gilmore Girls" reboot wasn't what she initially expected. She explained that she wanted Rory to have a successful end. However, fans know it was a big blow on her when she announced that she was pregnant.
Fans are now speculating that the potential second season of "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" would most likely tell the story of Rory's pregnancy. It could also reveal who the father of her child is. There is no official confirmation on this theory yet.
"Gilmore Girls: A Year in Life" was aired by Netflix. Stay tuned for more news and updates. Stream episodes here.
