AMD is making news in the high-end tech market because of its incredible new CPUs and GPUs. Ryzen processors and Radeon 500 series graphics cards have made hype in the market and helped AMD regain some of the lost market shares.
AMD is looking forwards to knocking more goals this year. With advancements in GPU technology called AMD Vega and the CPU technology known as AMD Ryzen, AMD is aiming for the high-end gaming markets, as reported by TrustedReveiews.
AMD Ryzen is known for its newest technology implementation which yields great performance improvements over the previous generation. The Ryzen family is based on Zen microarchitecture. The Ryzen processors are based on 14nm FinFET technology and deploy AM4 sockets. The Ryzen series has great performance gains compared to Intel at a similar price point.
AMD has equipped the Ryzen processors with Simultaneous Multithreading that challenges Intel's Kabylake series of processors. AMD Ryzen processors boast more cores than the similarly priced processors from Intel. This translates to a great multicore performance which is essential for video and photo editing tasks. AMD Ryzen processors have achieved these performance gains at a price much lower than Intel.
AMD Vega is a completely new and innovative technology which is still under construction and it would bring a human-like intelligence to the graphics cards as suggested by leaks. The Vega architecture will have tremendous potential and will be the most powerful graphics chip ever created, as reported by PCWorld.
AMD Vega GPU family will deploy a high bandwidth memory called HBM2 that is promised to deliver huge bandwidth as per the Vice President of Radeon gaming at AMD, Scott Herkelman, 4GB of HBM2 memory will offer similar bandwidth of the current generation cards that are equipped with an 11GB memory like the NVidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti. AMD Vega is also expected to have more capacity and power than the other GPUs of its class. The AMD Ryzen processors will evolve to the second generation soon and will help AMD to regain its market share in the high-end gaming market.
