Princess Charlotte Worth $3.8 Billion, More Than Prince George But Less Than Kate Middleton

Who knew that a two-year-old could be worth a staggering £3 billion ($3.8 billion)? It can happen especially if the said two-year-old happens to be the youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton or Princess Charlotte as she’s widely known. Reportedly, her net worth is bigger than that of her big brother Prince George, 3, the heir to the British throne.

Princess Charlotte’s net worth, however, is less than her mom’s. Kate Middleton is said to be worth £4.7 billion ($6 billion). The net worths of the two very young royals and their mother were estimated by Brand Finance Group. It is a London based branded business valuation and strategy consultancy firm.

Why are they worth that much? It is because of how much Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte can influence people into buying whatever outfits and brands they wear. Take the case of the recent photo that the Duchess of Cambridge herself took of Charlotte. The photo was earlier released this month to mark the little princesses’ second birthday. Her outfit was a pastel yellow patterned cardigan from the popular British brand John Lewis. Thanks to what is now referred to,as the “Charlotte Effect,” it sold out within 24 hours reports Marie Claire UK.

It is also believed that Prince George is a bit less influential when it comes to fashion compared to his mom and sister. Robert Haigh of Brand Finance explained that it is as simple as the relative size of men’s and women’s fashion markets. Princess Charlotte’s endorsement effect can likely be felt a ross a much wider range of products than her brother. This means a greater scope for the monetization of her brand name and hence a higher value.

There is no mistake, however, that like Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte, Prince George is a proven trendsetter according to E! News. The blue cardigan he wore when his dad Prince William took him to the hospital to see his new born sister in 2015 was sold out in 24 hours. The white and blue trimmed gingham bathrobe and the navy velvet slippers he wore when he met then President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle at Kensington Palace also sold out just as fast.

It is interesting to note however that Princess Charlotte and Prince George are worth less now than when they were younger.
