Miley Cyrus became so much emotional after performing her single, "Malibu" on 2017 Billboard Music Awards. Last May 21, the singer performed at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Even with her heartfelt performance, someone didn't seem to be moved, her rival Nicki Minaj.
Wearing an off-the-shoulder white cropped top paired with Daisy Duke shorts, Cyrus broke down in tears before finishing her live performance. Her song is far different from her single "Wrecking Ball", giving the crowd a slow rendition of "Malibu".
Miley Cyrus was introduced by her supportive father Billy Ray Cyrus and her sister Noah Cyrus and even jokes about her outfit. She captured the hearts of the watchers by giving a country-tinged rendition of her recently released single. On the end of the performance, colorful balloons washed down on the audience. But Nicki Minaj seems uninspired by the performance.
It is reported that Minaj is caught giving a major shade to Cyrus during the music awards, as reported by Billboard. It is said that the Anaconda singer gave a side-eye, smirked and laughed after Cyrus' drama, openly showed her resentment to her rival. Both singers have a fall-out way back 2015 after it is allegedly reported that "Wrecking Ball" singer criticized Minaj's songs due to its inability to belong in the nomination at MTV VMA. Meanwhile, Minaj counteracted slamming Cyrus in her acceptance speech.
"Malibu" was the first new music from Cyrus since 2015's "Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz" which was marked by its psychedelic tendencies. Her new single is also rumored to be inspired by her rekindled relationship with her fiancee Liam Hemsworth, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. It is also reported that her future husband was spotted backstage at the Billboard Music Awards. The Australian actor wearing his sunglasses greets Cyrus after being tearful at the stage. "Malibu" is Cyrus' ninth track to hit top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. It is also rumored that the couple would be planning their wedding this summer in the Himalayan mountains.
