Usher was absent from the memorial fund raising concert at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground last June 4. He revealed via Instagram his reason of not being able to come to the star-studded performance.

After promoting the benefit concert on social media, many were shocked when Usher didn't show up to the charity gig to commemorate the unfortunate fans who died due to the terrorist attack at Ariana Grande's Dangerous Tour at Manchester, London. In his previous post, Usher shared an emotional video about his sympathies and condolences to the 22 Manchester bombing victims.

He's supposedly one of the major line up on the show. He missed taking the stage with well-known singers like Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Niall Horan, Katy Perry, Take That, Pharrell Williams, Black Eyed Peas and Little Mix, as reported by Mail Online.

Though last Monday, he revealed on his Instagram the reason why he pulled out from the lineup. He posted a picture of the gig with his explanation to disappointed fans. Usher Raymond V, is Usher's son who was diagnosed last 2015 with Diabetes I.

"So happy to see that last night's concert in Manchester proved that love always prevails. I would have loved to be there but it was my son's first day at Camp Kudzu, one of the few summer camps for kids living with diabetes," he wrote. "This was an important day for him and for myself as a proud father. Stay strong UK."

Meanwhile, several speculations arise that Usher's involvement was for the purpose of covering up for Liam Gallagher's surprise set, as reported by Digital Spy. Being one of the show's highlights, Gallagher dedicates his performance of his single, "Live Forever" to the bombing victims.

14.50 million of people watched the concert on BBC One, making it the most-watched TV event. The concert earns £2 million in just three hours and other initiatives have raised more than $13 million.
