It’s main character is hinted to be dying and another major character wants to retire. It is no wonder then that “Hawaii Five-O” Season 8 is believed to be the last for the CBS series. But, just like last season when it was rumored to be about to be cancelled, its fans are hoping that the show still has enough gas left in its tank for it to continue.
Steve (Alex O’Loughlin) will be facing a challenging time when “Hawaii Five-O” Season 8 returns according to a previous MStarsNews report. He has been diagnosed with radiation poisoning, which he acquired after he diffused a bomb with only a car battery strapped to his chest as protection in the early part of last season. Doctors have in fact told the seemingly invincible leader of the Task Force that his condition is not something that he can recover from quickly and completely.
Alex O’Loughlin has been reported a number of times as saying he wants to leave after “Hawaii Five-O” Season 8. Series creator Peter M. Lenkov has effectively dismissed the idea of the series going on without its main character by posting on Twitter, "I wouldn't bet on that." It could be remembered that in last season’s finale, Steve told Danny (Scott Caan) that he won’t be going anywhere.
Also in the past season, viewers were convinced that Danny will be opting to retire reports Cartermatt. The physical demands of his job may have finally caught up with him and retirement seems to be the better choice for him. After losing a lot of his colleagues, he will be more open to doing other things in “Hawaii Five-O” Season 8. He is even entertaining the idea of going into the restaurant business with Steve.
With this mindset, it is beginning to look like Danny will no longer be a part of “Hawaii Five-O” Season 8. If so, what becomes of his fan-favorite bromance with Steve or, will his BFF follow his footsteps next? Share us your thought in the comments section below.
