Although the almost-seven-months pregnant Duchess of Cambridge has an etiquette advisor in Sir David Manning, his wife Lady Catherine Manning recently explained that Kate does not even need such a person in her life. Lady Manning explained that her husband serves more as a mentor and that the Duchess has natural poise, despite many people considering her a commoner who is out of place in her the royal family.
According to the wife of the former ambassador to the United States, the Kate Middleton knows enough about etiquette on her own. "Contrary to popular belief, the Duchess doesn't need any help in that department at all," Lady Manning told the Daily Mail. "Let me tell you, the Duchess is interested in everything and doesn't need any encouragement or etiquette instruction. She knows what is required all by herself."
Lady Manning then explained her husband's relationship with the mother-to-be, saying, "I've heard it said my husband is instructing her on protocol, but that's wrong. He's a mentor."
Though Kate is a natural at royal etiquette and poise, it looks like her delivery in July will be breaking some traditions. According to royal correspondent Robert Jobsen and countless other sources, Prince William is planning on being present in the delivery room during the birth of his first child with the Duchess. The future heir to the thrown will meet both of his or her (we still don't know!) parents at the same time, which goes against royal tradition but William is set on the idea.
Jobsen said, "The location hasn't officially been revealed yet, but it looks likely she'll follow tradition and give birth in the private wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, where William and Prince Harry were both born." And in regards to Prince William of Wales' presence in the delivery room he said, "I'm sure he'll be there."
