Christopher David Long, a 25-year-old Canadian hacker recently plead guilty to charges related to breaking into Carly Rae Jepsen's computer in order to obtain and release nude photos of the pop star. The 27-year-old singer's most recent single is entitled "Take My Picture," but back when Long allegedly hacked into her computer she was singing a different tune. This case has been ongoing sing July 2012 and this guilty plea came as an abrupt surprise to all involved.

Back in July of 2012, police announced that they were investigating a complaint made by Jepsen of unauthorized use of telecommunications as well as her computer. Of course, early reports at the time of the initial complaint suggested that one or numerous nude photos had been stolen from the computer.

After turning himself in around mid-December of 2012, Vancouver police announce that the hacker, Christopher David Long, was facing five charges. Those charges included identity fraud, possession of stolen property, fraudulently obtaining telecommunications services, and unauthorized use of a computer.

The charges he has pleaded guilty to are mischief and possession of stolen property.

Currently on tour and busy with performances, Jepsen has yet to comment on the news of the guilty plea though her manager says that she will most likely make a statement closer to Long's sentencing in September.

Jepsen was part of this weekend's Social Star Awards in Singapore alongside such acts as Psy and Aerosmith. The inaugural ceremony's motto is "the annual global celebration and recognition of the superstars of social media," so it was clear why Carly was there to perform.
