Florence Welch, singer of the popular musical group Florence and the Machine, is reportedly being lined up for a leading role in Star Wars: Episode VII. According to the Sun, the 26-year-old vocalist might be starting a career in acting as a major cast member of one of the most highly anticipated films in years. Details and confirmation have to be released but speculation on the specific role and reason why producers wanted Welch have been getting around. Plus, Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy has even come out saying he would like to work with J.J. Abrams again but in a different universe!
When asked in an interview with StarTrek.com about asking his former director for a role in the new Star Wars film, Nimoy responded, "Oooh. Ooooh. Wouldn't that be fun. I would love to."
Though the Star Trek fans that asked him the question did not expect him to say yes. They joked saying the universe would implode if the actor who plays Spock were involved in Star Wars. Nimoy disagreed however.
"No, no," he explained. "I think it would work wonderfully. I think it would work just great. I think it would be a great idea, and somebody ought to tell him that.
So Nimoy is trying to get a role but it looks like Welch already has one. According to an insider on the production side of Star Wars 7:

She has done some acting but it was her singing on stage that initially caught the eye. Almost every actress in Hollywood wants a role in the new movies but we are keen to cast people who are unexpected. Florence is being considered for a major part that would turn her into an A-list actress overnight."
