The pregnant Duchess of Cambridge's due date is fast approaching and many family members are thinking up ideas for the new royal that will enter this world sometime in July. Kate's uncle Gary Goldsmith recently shared his gift ideas with The Sun and is openly excited about them. Goldsmith, the younger brother of Kate's mother Carole, has a big sense of humor and wants to make sure that comes across in his first and future gifts for the future heir to the throne. Though the newborn royal can look forward to many gifts, there is a new development in Canada that could mean that, if the child is a girl, she would not be able to become Queen!

According to The Daily Express, Canadian officials have challenged the recent attempt to update the laws of succession that would allow a first-born daughter to succeed to the throne before her younger brother(s). But the challenge is not exact how it seems: the recent passing of the bill to change the law of succession on the side of Canada might have gone through some unconstitutional measures to get there.

Constitutional experts at Laval University in Quebec City, Genevieve Motard and Patrick Taillon have started a case against the motion to pass the new law. They claim that the Canadian government acted unconstitutionally. Apparently the government did not seek the approval of the country's to provinces before making the agreement.

Professor Taillon said, "We are not against the modifications. We only want to respect the Canadian constitution. The government of Canada has created a diplomatic crisis by not respecting the Canadian constitution."

We still do not know if the baby will be a boy or a girl, so these complications might not even matter. What we do know is that the future royal's great-uncle is preparing a "hilarious" gift for him or her.

"I'm going to get exactly what I get for all my mates' babies," he explained. "As a die-hard Chelsea fan, I always get the baby Chelsea shares. Then, when it's a bit older, I get it a full tiny Chelsea strip."

"It's brilliant, it drives the parents mad," Goldsmith continued. "I love turning their kid into a true blue Chelsea fan. And Prince William is an Aston Villa fan. I thought it could be hilarious."

"I mean, what on Earth can you get for a baby like theirs?" he added. "That baby is going to have everything it could ever want. So Chelsea shares are perfect. I think William will find it funny."
