It seems as though Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane will make a full recovery. Just one week after discovering a life-threatening blood clot on his brain, the band member is home and doing well.
Earlier today (June 17), Dwane posted short message to Mumford & Sons' official blog. "Bear with a sore head! Thanks so much for all the well wishing, it seems to be working! I'm home. Ted xx," he wrote.
A photo accompanying the three-sentence message showed Dwane with a hospital bracelet, newly shaved head and scar. His beard remained bushy and untouched. See the photo of the recovering musician below:
Fans have flooded the band with support. Comments from well-wishers all over the world are flooding the blog post. Messages of hope for a quick recovery, happiness at the bassist's return home and prayers for a speedy recovery are prevalent on the blog.
According to the band, Dwane was discharged from the hospital on Friday, June 14. "The surgery went well, and the excellent medical team helping him are very pleased with his progress," the band wrote in a message to fans late last week. "He has been nothing short of heroic in how he has handled this whole ordeal, and now it has been medically proven that he does indeed have a brain."
Though Dwane is expected to make a full recovery, his medical ordeal has led to Mumford & Sons cancelling the rest of their Summer Stampede Tour, which included slots at Bonnaroo and Telluride Music Festivals.
Though they may be disappointed in the cancelled shows, Mumford fans have been widely supportive of Dwane. Even in the blog post about the cancelled shows, the vast majority of fans simply wished for the bassist to get better quickly, proving that Dwane's message of thanks is certainly appropriate.
