'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' SPOILER? [VIDEO]: Did Felicity Jones Confirm 2014 Role as Black Cat? Andrew Garfield Signs on for Sequels 3 & 4

Felicity Jones (Like Crazy) signed on for an unnamed role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 back in January of 2013, and we have yet to figure out whom she will portray. Many rumors got around suggesting that Jones would be playing the part of Felicia Hardy, who is secretly Black Cat in the Spider-Man universe. This is a strong female counter against Spider-Man so many were hoping she would appear in the Marc Webb-directed sequel. In a recent interview for her new film Breathe In, Jones might have actually confirmed the Black Cat rumors!

Though this is not an official confirmation, Flicks and the City reporter Jan Gilbert asked Jones if she is "looking forward to everyone seeing [her] as Black Cat." Jones smiles at the question and realizes that she has just been caught in a very tricky situation. The young actress struggles through her response, ultimately leading most people to believe that she might have confirmed her role.

"Um, well, uh, possibly," she responded. "I don't know. Yeah, I kind of-it's um. Yeah, if that happens, that would be wonderful."

This is clearly not a straightforward confirmation of her role as Black Cat, but it is pretty telling thanks to her nervousness.

So if she is indeed Black Cat, Jones joins a long line of actors portraying iconic comic book heroes. In fact, news broke recently that The Amazing Spider-Man has secured two more future films so perhaps Jones will be part of the franchise for quite some time.

Jeff Blake, Jeff Blake, Sony Pictures' chairman of worldwide marketing and distribution, said in statement:

"Spider-Man is our most important, most successful, and most beloved franchise, so we're thrilled that we are in a position to lock in these prime release dates over the next five years."

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set for a May 2, 2014, release. Stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Sally Field return from this sequel with Shailene Woodley, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, and of course Felicity Jones joining the project as well.
