John Mayer New Album 2013 'Paradise Valley' Album Cover PHOTO Release: Watch 'Paper Doll' Singer Show off Oldest Guitar [VIDEO]

On the same day that John Mayer released his retaliation song to Taylor Swift, the singer-songwriter debuted the album cover for his upcoming effort Paradise Valley.

"It's official. The new album is Paradise Valley & will come out 8.13.13," his official Twitter announced.

The album art features Mayer standing in a field while wearing a coat of many colors, looking out into nature against a cloudy gray sky. A black dog sits in the field with the singer, looking up at him.

The August 13 release date for Paradise Valley comes a little over a year after Mayer's last album Born and Raised. In the initial announcement back in May, the "Who Says" rocker said the album would not be a "Born and Raised 'plus,'" but a "new group of songs to bring the whole thing up to date with Summer 2013."

Yesterday, Mayer released the lyric video for new single "Paper Doll." The Prancercise clip featured lyrics such as "Was it just too far to fall, / For a little paper doll," making the Internet explode with rumors that the song was a response to ex's Taylor Swift break-up anthem "Dear John."

"Paper Doll" was not the only video promotion Mayer has released. Today (June 19), the singer showed a studio session, where he shows off one of his oldest guitars, which he bought after working at a gas station.

The chips, chipped of laquer, back plate and sticker of he and a friend tell the story of the instrument. It's one of his first instruments and has followed Mayer all over the world.
