For those of you who have been following the first season of NBC's Hannibal, the season finale (entitled "Savoureux") most likely left you itching for season 2 to start as soon as possible. Viewers of course know what happened to Abigail Hobbs but the only one on the series who knows for sure is Dr. Hannibal Lecter. That is of course until Will Graham starts to put the puzzle together. (SPOILERS to follow)
"Savoureux" opens in a familiar place: Will Graham room, with Will in bed. Unfortunately the main character wakes up covered in mud and sweat. He runs to take his medication but then vomits up a human ear. Of course we think that this is a hallucination, but Dr. Lecter and the FBI prove that Will literally coughed up an ear. It turns out to be Abigail's.
Will is brought in for questioning and we get a glimpse of hope when Dr. Bloom asks him to draw a clock like he would often do for Hannibal. Finally she will realize that Hannibal has been hiding Will's illness from everyone, right? NOPE. Dr. Lecter covers his tracks as he always has and the episode just gets more aggravating after that.
Will is arrested and escapes while being transferred to another facility. He has Hannibal take him to Abigail's home where he puts it all together. That's right! Will finally "sees" Hannibal for the first time. Unfortunately Jack shows up and disarms Graham.
The finale ends with Hannibal visiting Graham in jail, with a smirk on his face. But this happens after Dr. Lecter and Dr. Du Maurier presumably eat Abigail Hobbs. This interaction made it seem that Du Maurier had an idea about Hannibal's evilness. This is just something to watch in season two.
So Will is in jail and Hannibal is still on the loose. What's in store for season two?
