Justin Timberlake will have to put on his "Suit & Tie" for one big event. The pop megastar is set to perform at the BET Awards on June 30.
The music channel announced that Timberlake will be singing at the ceremony late last night when their official Twitter account, @BETAwards, tweeted: "ANNOUNCEMENT: Justin Timberlake, yes you read that right, Justin Timberlake (@JTimberlake) will be performing at the 2013 #BETAwards!!!!!!! 'RT.'"
Though some fans have reacted questionably considering JT is a white performer and it's the Black Entertainment TV Awards, most were excited by the news. The channel asked for retweets and fans responded by spreading the message over 1300 times.
The "Mirrors" singer will be joining Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey and Kendrick Lamar at the BET Awards. Comedian Chris Tucker will host the show.
Timberlake is nominated for four BET Awards on June 30. His trak with Jay-Z "Suit & Tie" is up for Best Collaboration, Coca Cola Viewer's Choice and Video of the Year. He's also up for Best Male R&B Artist.
Meanwhile Justin Timberlake is getting ready for his co-headlining Legends of the Summer Tour with rapper Jay-Z. The 15-show tour will kick off July 14 in London before Hova and Timberlake take to North America July 17 in Toronto. The two will only be on tour for a month, ending Aug. 16 in Miami Gardens, Florida.
The BET Awards 2013 will air on June 30. The ceremony will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
