In the wee early hours of June 22, rapper Drake gave his Twitter fans something to salivate over: four new songs and an album announcement.
UPDATE: Drake New Album 2013 'Nothing Was The Same' Release Date Pushed Back? 'Versace' Rapper's Third Record to be Released Sept. 24, Drizzy Still in Studio [VIDEO]
At 3:43 a.m., Drake tweeted out simply "Would You Like Some New Music?" There was no real question, as Drizzy sent out a link to OVOSOUND.com, which contained four new tracks. Two songs have Drake as the lead artist and two are from artists signed to his label October's Very Own.
Migos and PARTYNEXTDOOR were the two OVO artists to get the push from Drake's tweet. Both songs feature Drake. Drizzy largely leads PARTYNEXTDOOR's track "Over Here." The mid-tempo, chill track is full of emotion and smooth beats. Meanwhile, Migos' stomper "Versace" has a new remix with an added verse from Drake. Listen to the two OVO rappers' songs below:
Drake's two new tracks "Jodeci Freestyle" and "The Motion" show that the rapper's skills are as strong as ever. "Jodeci Freestyle" is a stream-of-consciousness rap, beginning with a mention of Drake's newest GQ cover, going to the new Cash Money and Drake's rapping skills. Drake shares the mic with his good friend J. Cole on the song.
"The Motion" featuring Sampha begins with a beat that sounds out of a '90s video game. Drake croons, "I guess that's just the motion." The smooth raps that follow make for an easy, relaxing music experience. Hear the new music from Drake here:
As he mentions in "Versace," Drake also announced that his third studio album Nothing Was The Same will be released on Sept. 17. He sent out a tweet with the album title and date just a few short hours after dropping the new songs. It's unknown whether "Jodeci Freestyle" or "The Motion" will appear on the album.
