Supreme Court Rules Against DOMA, Prop 8: Musicians and Celebrities React to Gay Marriage Rulings on Twitter

Today (June 26), the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that the Defense of Marriage Act was unconstitutional, making gay marriage recognized on a federal basis in states where it is also recognized.

In a similar victory for gay rights advocates, the Court also refused to hear the California case on Proposition 8, a law which made gay marriage illegal in the country and was then overturned by the District Supreme Court. In doing so, gay marriage is once again legal in California. According to MSNBC, marriage licenses may be issued in the state as early as today.
