After performing on Live! With Kelly and Michael yesterday and touring Boston and New York radio stations on Tuesday, the Backstreet Boys continued their media tour by appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman.
The "In A World Like This" group is busy promoting their new single and upcoming album, due out at the end of July. With more than 20 years behind them, the boys have their fair share of misheard lyrics. They appeared on Letterman to clear up the air on some of the words to their most famous songs during the show's Top 10 list segment.
Of course, each "misheard" lyric was a topical joke, showing that BSB aren't afraid to poke a little fun at themselves.
"Everybody, / Check your body, / Take a moment after being out in the sticks, / To check yourself for ticks," the group started out by singing to the tune of their 1997 hit single "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)."
The group continued poking fun at themselves, "I don't care who you are, / Where you're from, / What you did, / I have very low standards," Nick Carter belted out, showing that the lyrics to "As Long As You Love Me" may actually contain some pretty bad advice.
Other jokes include "Sometimes I wish I could know your thoughts by listening in on your phone calls, / Follow all your moves, online, each day, / You should work for the NSA," "All you people can't ya see, can't ya see, / Ford is the finest car company, / Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, A Ford will treat you right, / Ford: it's the ride of your life!, / (We just made 50 grand)" and "They were wrong when they thought that Jimmy Hoffa was buried in concrete."
Even while singing stupid jokes, BSB sounded solid.
