Let's be real honest. A$AP Ferg is not a good rapper. His songs live or die on the strength of the beat, the guest verses and the hook. Luckily for us "Shabba" (an ode to dancehall legend Shabba Ranks and the latest single off the upcoming Trap Lord mixtape) comes through on all three counts.

Check it out:

The minor-key romp sounds a lot like another Ferg standout  "Bath Salt." The beat on that track made you feel a genuine sense of menace while boasting amazing hooks and killer verses from Flatbush Zombies.

While the beat for "Shabba" is decidely bouncier due to its dancehall roots, there is still a positively evil-sounding presence there. A$AP Rocky is no Meech, but he does a decent job batting cleanup and the "Sh-shabba" hook will likely be in your head all day.

Also, the track is tagged as "JiggyGoth" and if that doesn't take off as a subgenre, then I've lost all faith in the Internet.
