The bombings at the Boston Marathon on Patriot's Day (April 15, 2013) and the resulting manhunt for the culprits rocked the nation in many ways. Writer Casey Sherman and Boston Herald reporter Dave Wedge are set to release a book entitled "Boston Strong," which focuses on the city's reaction as well as the hunt for the suspected Tsarnaev brothers. This book is expected to be released in 2014, but Oscar-nominated screenwriters Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy - the writing team behind The Fighter - are set to adapt the book into a film and have picked up the rights to do so.

According to Deadline, Johnson and Tamasy already have a working relationship with Sherman and this project will be their second together. The David O. Russell-directed film The Fighter, for which Johnson and Tamasy garnered an Academy Award nomination, gave audiences a look into what life was like in Boston. This upcoming movie is sure to shed light on just how this city reacted to the terrible events that rocked the whole nation.

The manhunt of the surviving suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was all over television up until his April 19th capture, so whether the movie will go into this portion of the story is unknown. As of now, it looks like the film might be a character piece on the whole city with the possibility of focusing on a few key characters.

But is it too soon for this story to be told? Clearly, it has only been a few months as of now, so maybe by the time the movie is made it might be more appropriate.
