With Star Wars: Episode VII reportedly stating production in early 2014, fans are still waiting for news on the characters involved with the film and what actors will be portraying them. J.J. Abrams and producers have apparently ruled out the possibility of using the Jaina and Jacen Solo from the "Expanded Universe" book series, but a recent casting call list makes it seem like they are indeed part of the film. Also, rumored returning cast member, Carrie Fisher who played Princess Leia in the original trilogy, is still saying she has a role in the 2015 Disney flick and also shared her own storylines for the film!
"Han Solo and I have been unhappily married for many years," she explained. "And so we speak through the wookiees and use a translator."
"I regularly say to R2 'Tell that son of a [expletive] to ***!' And we have children, but one of them looks a lot like Chewbacca, and we use Yoda, who's regenerated on a planet somewhere, for marital therapy. I urge Chewie to get waxed for sure!," Fisher continued. "There's also a lot of shopping. Because there's cool things to buy and giant planets that are shopping malls. Alderaan means shopping mall by the way. And then I start sleeping with robots, how about that?"
So clearly Fisher was deliberately joking around about this, but is she and Harrison Ford return odds of seeing the characters' personal life on film is high. So will we see their children who debuted in the "Expanded Universe" books?
According to J.J. Abrams and his production team, we will not see anyone from the book series. But after looking at the casting call list, perhaps we shouldn't rule out seeing these characters just yet. In fact, when most fan and news sites saw this call list, Jacen and Jaina were the first characters to come to mind. Check out the list right here:
Fans of the "Expanded Universe" can definitely pick out the Solo siblings from this list. Over the next few months we will find out exactly who these characters are, though, so stay tuned!
