Lil Wayne is not heartless. Although his controversial Emmett Till reference on his song “Karate Chop,” featuring Future may have displayed a bit of insensitiveness and disrespect, Weezy is only human-or maybe he is not a human being. Either way the Young Money boss apologized to the Till family mid-performance during his “Amerika’s Most Wanted Tour” stop in Tennessee last week.
The crowd was hype singing along to Weezy’s “Karate Chop” lyrics when the rapper replaced the controversial lyrics to say, “I apologize to the family of Emmett Till.”

Lil Tunechi lost his endorsement deal with Mountain Dew and PespiCo in May due to his lyrics on his "Karate Chop." Weezy rapped, "Pop a lot of pain pills, 'bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels ... beat that p***y up like Emmett Till." The lyrics infuriated the Till family, prompting them to put the pressure on Mountain Dew to drop him.
Although Weezy sent an apology letter to the Teal family, it was a little to late. "We do not plan any additional work with Lil Wayne moving forward," a rep for PepsiCo said in a statement to MTV News. "His offensive reference to a revered civil rights icon does not reflect the values of our brand. Till, was fatally beaten beyond recognition at the age of 14 in Mississippi in 1955 for allegedly whistling at a white woman
The Young Money Boss's rep confirmed the news to Associated Press stating the split was "an amicable parting" of ways due to "creative differences."
