The "I Knew You Were Trouble" songstress recently told Rolling Stone that she has opened up the floodgates to her songwriting process and we all know that her latest ex-boyfriend, One Direction's Harry Styles, is clearly not safe. Though to be fair, plenty of songs are about heartache. But we all know whom Taylor has dated in the past so that is why much more attention and interest goes into her songs. So following the success of her latest album, Red, it looks like Taylor isn't holding back on her follow up.
"The floodgates just opened the last couple weeks," Taylor revealed to Rolling Stone. "I'm getting to that point where I'm irritating to be around because I'll be with you for half the conversation and then the second half of the conversation I'm clearly editing the second verse of whatever I'm writing in my head."
With the success of Red still affecting Swift's career, she has decided not to emulate but to branch off from her previous work.
"I think that the idea of having a different approach to every single one of my albums is so exciting to me. I never want to make the same record twice. Why do it? What's the point?" she said. "It's so overwhelming that when you're starting a project there are such endless possibilities if you're willing to evolve and experiment. If you're willing to become a different version of yourself, you can really go anywhere with it. And that's kind of where I am. The kind of the laboratory experimental stage of really catching onto a new thing that I'm liking."
"I really loved collaborating," Taylor said, referring to her past collaborations including Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody (who is currently rumored to be working with Harry Styles). "You work with a lot of different people and you find the people you have this dream connection with in the studio. I know those people and I know the ones I want to go back to."
