According to a Buckingham Palace Aide, "Kate's due date has passed." The Duchess of Cambridge is now waiting like the rest of the world for the arrival of the new royal baby, and "contraction watch" has started. After taking a short holiday to Bucklebury to visit her parents' home and get out of her hot Kensington Palace cottage, Kate and her husband Prince William are now reportedly back in London. This of course means that we will most likely have the arrival of the future heir to the throne at any moment!
Kate is closer to St. Mary's Hospital where she is scheduled to deliver her first child in the Lindo Wing. This is the same wing that Princes William and Harry were born to the late Princess Diana.
The palace staff is "on call every day and night in July for this," according to a palace insider. "There is nothing left to prepare or plan for."
Meanwhile, it looks like Wills was with his wife at his in-laws' home, too, according to a spokesperson for the Royal Air Force.
"William is not on paternity leave yet but he has had to take time off work now," the RAF spokesperson said. "He did double shifts the week before he returned to London. We're all on the edge of our seats for news. I thought the baby would be born by now!"
But now reports are saying that the royal couple is back in London to await the arrival of their first child. Some have speculated that their trip back to London was in order to go straight to the hospital, but odds are Kate and William are simply going home to enjoy some more time alone before the arrival of their child.
