Daft Punk 'Colbert Report' Appearance? Stephen Colbert Dances to 'Get Lucky' on 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,' Sparking Rumors of RARE TV Appearance Next Week [VIDEOS]

Daft Punk are quite the aloof electronic French duo. The masterminds behind the massive summer hit "Get Lucky," featuring Pharrell rarely make televised appearances. Their latest album, "Random Access Memories" topped the U.S. charts with little promotion.

However, now, the band is rumored to make a rare appearance on Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" next week.

In what seemed like a random occurrence, on last night's episode of "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," host Stephen Colbert interrupted Fallon mid-sentence, emerging from a blue curtain and dancing in his most grooving moves to "Get Lucky." Eventually, Fallon joined Colbert in dance, but then Colbert left the stage as soon as he emerged.

However, according to a leading Colbert fansite, colbertnewshub.com, the jesting TV host's appearance was not a random access memory... it was to slyly promote an appearance by Daft Punk on "The Colbert Report" next week.

The French duo may announce or perform their new single from "Random Access Memories," which is reportedly due out this month.

Though Daft Punk shy away from media coverage and TV appearances, a "Colbert bump" will not be the first time the act has announced new music on TV.

During a March episode of "Saturday Night Live," Daft Punk bought a short ad to announce the release of their new album "Random Access Memories" and the new single "Get Lucky."

Similarly, "The Colbert Report" is a friendly atmosphere for musical guests. Earlier this summer, The Postal Service made their television debut on the TV show. After some light jabbing from Colbert, the indie supergroup played two songs.

The Daft Punk episode of "The Colbert Report" is likely to air next week.
