Robin Thicke continued with the promotion and lampooning of his massive summer single "Blurred Lines" in a viral video with "Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon and hip-hop legends The Roots. In a move similar to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" and Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You," Thicke, Fallon and co. redid "Blurred Lines" using children's classroom instruments. The result is an adorable, jolly three-and-a-half minute rendition of the sexy tune.
Featuring a variety of kazoos, maracas, a colorful mini xylophone, a cowbell and a wacky keyboard-kazoo hybrid, The Roots provided background instrumentation and vocals to "Blurred Lines." Meanwhile, Fallon proved his woodblock skills and Thicke played the spoons part of the time and used the eating utensils/instruments as a faux microphone during the other parts.
The Roots Black Thoughts takes on T.I.'s rap verse, of course singing it into a red, yellow and green maraca.
Overall, the children's classroom instrument version of "Blurred Lines" is a super cute, honking good time.
That doesn't make the lyrics safe for the kiddos, though. The song, which has been rife with controversy, still may be a little inappropriate for the main demographic using kazoos and triangles.
Also, Thicke finally reveals what, in fact, rhymes with "hug me" at the 1:41 mark. Unfortunately, over the noise of the honking instruments, it's not immediately clear what he sings, but it sounds something like "love me," which isn't an exact rhyme but still better than some alternatives.

This is not the first time Thicke has lampooned his song on a late night talk show. In June, Thicke took on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" to pardoy the controversial music video.
