Mike D and Ad-Rock have reunited to work on music for the first time since fellow Beastie Boy Adam 'MCA' Yauch's death early last year. The result is the Plastic Ono Band track "Bad Dancer", a Yoko Ono which can be streamed here.

For those of you expecting new lyrics from the legendary rap crew, I'm sorry. Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz were strictly behind the boards on this one, handling production (and it shows). The danceable track consists of Yoko bleating and delivering slightly off-beat mid-90s house talk over a beat that sounds like it could have been left on the cutting room floor from an early Beasties record. The beat is so earworm-y that even Yoko's strange delivery can't fully derail the track.

While it might not be the return we all want, "Bad Dancer" -when coupled with Mike D's punk-trap track "Humberto Vs The New Reactions"- may signal that the Beastie Boys are slowly warming up to the idea of making music again.

The Plastic Ono Band's star-studded Take Me To The Land Of Hell drops September 17 via Columbia.
