Earl Sweatshirt dropped by Shade 45's morning radio show Sway In The Morning to promote his upcoming album Doris (though, if the rest of the album is as good as "Burgundy", "Sunday" and "Hive" that may be unnecessary). Sway eventually convinced Earl to freestyle and break a promise of "never rapping seriously on the radio," and it was definitely worth it.
The Odd Future member passed over a lot of beats before vibing with the beat from Snoop Dogg's "Drop It Like It's Hot (Remix)," though Earl didn't recognize the beat initially, he still managed to put out a pretty great verse or two.
I really like the "Ritalin and Cess" line, even if Earl immediately trashed the freestyle as "awful."
Side note: Is it unsettling to anyone else that the voice/ lyrical content of Earl Sweatshirt's raps come from that kid? It's especially disconcerting when you hear him speak beforehand.
What do you think of Earl Sweatshirt's Sway In The Morning Freestyle?
