Lady Gaga is a big fan of changing outfits in her performances. First, the "Artpop" singer went through a metamorphosis during her VMAs performance, and today (Sept. 9), Gaga once again changes her look several times on "Good Morning America" with a "Wizard of Oz"-themed performance of her new single "Applause."

Opening dressed as Dorothy (complete with a little Toto in a basket!), Gaga blasted through a stripped-down version version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" in New York City's Times Square while surrounded by the Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and Scarecrow. She then launched into "Applause" while walking down a yellow brick runway. Her Little Monsters accessorized the set by wearing poppy hats in the audience.

Gaga then transformed into Glinda the Good Witch, the Wicked Witch of the West and then a Gaga-esque Dorothy, complete with giant bow and shoulder padded jacket.

In the interview following her performance, Gaga remained humble about her massive success and stated that she still wakes up every morning grateful and surprised at her opportunities in life, even though it has been five years since "Just Dance" first hit the charts.

Gaga then explained her "Wizard of Oz" performance and, in relation, her costume changes at the VMAs. "It's my way of saying, all of these outfits, all of these ways I've been changing over the years, this is my way of assimilating. This is my way of surviving. This is my way of getting to Oz to have all my dreams come true," she said, likening her personal journey to Dorothy's in the story.
